Axar Patel’s whirlwind unbeaten 41 off just 26 balls, supported by valuable contributions from the top-order batsmen helped India set an imposing target of 540 before New Zealand struggling at 140 for 5 in their second innings of the match by end of the day three.

Day 4

India cruised to a record-breaking win after Jayant Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin each took four wickets as New Zealand bowled for 167 on day four of the second Test match.



India 1st Innings Batting:

India bowled for 325 runs in 109.5 overs with Mayank Agarwal was the top-scorer with a magnificent 150 off 331 balls - his fourth Test century and first against New Zealand in Tests, He smashing 17-fours and four sixes.

Axar Patel contributed a well-crafted 52 off 128 balls including five fours & two sixes, Shubman Gill added 44 runs off 71 balls featuring 7 fours and a six.

Wriddhiman Saha contributed 27 runs off 62 balls with three fours and a six, while Shreyas Iyer made 18 runs off 41 balls with 3 fours.

New Zealand 1st Innings Bowling:

Ajaz Patel produced a historic bowling performance to claiming all 10 wickets for 119 runs in 47.5 overs - which including 12 maidens.

New Zealand 1st Innings:

New Zealand bundled out for just 62 runs in 28.1 overs with Kyle Jamieson was the top-scorer with 17 runs off 36 balls - which including two fours, Tom Latham made 10 and Daryl Mitchell scored 8.

India 1st Innings Bowling:

Ravichandran Ashwin was the India’s best bowler - He's brilliant bowling performance to figures of 4 wickets for 8 runs in 8 overs including two maidens.

Mohammed Siraj took 3 wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs, Axar Patel claimed 2 wickets and Jayant Yadav picked up 1 wicket.

India 2nd Innings Batting:

India declared at 276 for 7 in 70 overs with Mayank Agarwal was the top-scorer again with 62 off 108 balls - which including 9 fours and a six.

Shubman Gill contributed a brilliant 47 off 75 balls with four-fours and a six, while Cheteshwar Pujara also made 47 off 97 balls featuring six fours and a six.

Axar Patel smashed a quickfire unbeaten 41 off 26 balls - who hitting four sixes and three fours with a massive strike rate of 157.69 and Virat Kohli contributed 36 runs off 84 balls including a six and a four.

New Zealand 2nd Innings Bowling:

Ajaz Patel captured 4 wickets for 106 runs in 26 overs - which including 3 maidens, while Rachin Ravindra picked up 3 wickets for 56 runs in 13 overs with 2 maidens.

New Zealand 2nd Innings Batting:

New Zealand bowled out for 167 runs in 56.3 overs with Daryl Mitchell was the top-scorer with a resilient 60 off 92 balls featuring seven fours and two sixes.

Henry Nicholls made 44 runs off 111 balls contained 8 fours, Will Young contributed 20 runs off 41 balls hitting 4-fours and Rachin Ravindra scored 18 off 50 balls with four-fours.

India 2nd Innings Bowling:

Ravichandran Ashwin was again the best bowler for India - who taking 4 wickets for 34 runs in 22.3 overs with 9 maidens, Jayant Yadav also claimed 4 wickets for 49 runs in 14 overs including 4 maidens and Axar Patel took 1 wicket.

Mayank Agarwal was named Player of the Match for his outstanding batting performances, scoring a total of 212 runs across the match.
