Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep guided India seal a record-breaking 336-run win over England and India leveling the series 1-1 in a historic contest during the second Test match.

India moved closer to victory after Shubman Gill’s record-breaking innings, setting a mammoth target of 608 on day four of the second Test match.

Akash Deep bags ten-wicket match sealed a historic win for India on day five of the second Test match.


India 1st Innings Batting:

India scored 587 for all out in their first innings in 151 overs with top-scorer was Shubman Gill -  who smashed a career-best 269 off 387 balls - his first double century in Tests - hitting 30 fours and 3 sixes with a strike rate of 69.50.

Yashasvi Jaiswal contributed a sparkling 87 off 107 balls featuring 13 fours with a impressive strike rate of 81.30, while Ravindra Jadeja added 89 off 137 balls hitting 10 fours and a six.

Washington Sundar contributed 42 off 103 balls contained 3 fours and a six, Karun Nair added 31 off 50 balls with 5 fours and Rishabh Pant struck 25 off 42 balls - which included one six and one four.

England 1st Innings Bowling:

For England, Shoaib Bashir was the best bowler for England - who captured 3 wickets, Chris Woakes and Josh Tongue both claimed 2 wickets each, while Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Brydon Carse took one wicket apiece.

England 1st Innings Batting:

England scored 407 for all out in 89.3 overs in their first innings with Jamie Smith was the top-scorer with a career-best unbeaten 188 off 207 balls - his second Test hundred and first century against India in Tests - smashing 21 fours and 4 sixes with a solid strike rate of 88.88

Harry Brook smashed a 158 off 234 balls - who marking his ninth Test hundred and first century against India - featuring 17 fours and a six, Joe Root made 22 off 46 balls with two boundaries and Zak Crawley added 19 off 30 balls contained three fours.

India 1st Innings Bowling:

Mohammed Siraj was the best bowler for India -  who claimed a six-wicket haul for 70 runs in 19.3 overs with three maidens, Akash Deep picked up a 4 wickets for 88 runs in 20 overs contained 2 maidens.

India 2nd Innings Batting:

In their second innings, India scored 427 for 6 declared in 83 overs with Shubman Gill was the top-scorer again - who hammering a 161 off 162 balls - his eighth Test hundred and fifth century against England in Tests - smashing 13 fours and 8 sixes with a magnificent strike rate of 99.38. 

Ravindra Jadeja was a unbeaten 69 off 118 balls with 5 fours and a six, Rishabh Pant added 65 off 58 balls featuring 8 fours and three sixes with a strike rate of 112.06.

KL Rahul contributed 55 off 84 balls hitting 10 fours, Yashasvi Jaiswal hitting a 28 off 23 balls including 6 fours with a strike rate of 127.27 and Karun Nair made 26 off 46 balls with 5 fours.

England 2nd Innings Bowling:

For England in their second innings, Josh Tongue and Shoaib Bashir both captured 2 wickets each, while Brydon Carse and Joe Root claimed one wicket each.

England 2nd Innings Batting:

England bowled out for 271 in 68.1 overs in their second Innings with Jamie Smith was the top-scorer with 88 off 99 balls - who hitting 9 fours and 4 sixes with a strike rate of 88.88.

Akash Deep was the best bowler for India in the second innings - who claiming a career-best six-wicket haul for 99 runs in 21.1 overs with two maidens, Washington Sundar, Prasidh Krishna, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj each took one wickets.

Player of the match:

Shubman Gill was named Player of the Match for his record-breaking batting performance to scoring a total of 430 runs in a single Test match.
