Ashok Malhotra contributed 40 off 60 balls, while Yashpal Sharma hitting a run-a-ball 37, Dilip Vengsarkar added 23 off 37 balls, Roger Binny scored 16 and Sandeep Patil made 15.

Sri Lanka Bowling:

For Sri Lanka, Bandula Warnapura and Somachandra De Silva was the best bowlers for Sri Lanka - who taking each 2 wickets, Anura Ranasinghe, debutant Vinothen John and Ashantha de Mel each claimed one wicket.

Sri Lanka Innings:

Sri Lanka managed 191 for 8 in the allotted 46 overs with Sidath Wettimuny was the top-scorer with 43 off 60 balls, Roy Dias added 39 off 49 balls, Anura Ranasinghe contributed 35 off 27 deliveries and and Duleep Mendis madd 33 off 39 balls.

India Bowling:

For India, Dilip Joshi was the best bowler for India - who claimed a career-best 4 wickets for 44 runs in 10 overs, Mohinder Amarnath captured 2 wickets, while Kapil Dev and Madan Lal each claimed one-wicket.

Player of the match:

Dilip Joshi was named Player of the Match for his excellent spin bowling performance to taking 4 wickets for 44 runs in 10 overs.
