Debutant Harshal Patel, KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma guided India series win

Debutant Harshal Patel’s two key wickets, combined with classy fifties from KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma guided India comfortable seven-wicket win over New Zealand and securing an unassailable 2-0 lead to sealing the series in the second T20 international.

New Zealand posted 153 for 6 in their 20 overs with Glenn Phillips was the top-scorer with a quick-fire 34 off 21 balls including three sixes and a four with a strike rate of 161.90.

Martin Guptill contributed a blistering 31 off 15 balls featuring three fours and two sixes with a strike rate of 206.66, Daryl Mitchell added 31 off 28 balls with 3 fours, while Mark Chapman hit 21 off 17 balls - who hitting three boundaries.

India Bowling :

For India, debutant Harshal Patel impressed - who taking 2 wickets on his T20I debut, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar each claimed one wickets.

India Innings :

Chasing 155, India reached the target comfortably at 155 for 3 in 17.2 overs with KL Rahul was the top scorer with a classy 65 off 49 balls featuring six fours and two sixes.

Rohit Sharma played a powerful knock of 55 off 36 balls - who hitting five sixes and a four with a strike rate of 152.77, Rishabh Pant remained a unbeaten 12 off 6 balls smashing two sixes, while Venkatesh Iyer also finished not out on 12 off 11 balls contained 2 fours.

New Zealand Bowling :

New Zealand’s Tim Southee was the best bowler for New Zealand - who taking 3 wickets for 16 runs in 4 overs.

Player of the match :

Harshal Patel was named Player of the Match for his outstanding debut bowling performance to  finishing with figures of 2 wickets for 25 runs in his 4 overs.
