A magnificent unbeaten 86 by Shikhar Dhawan Debutant Ishan Kishan's birthday debut half-century and Prithvi Shaw's onslaught help India crushing 7-wicket victory over Sri Lanka and go up 1-0 lead in the first One-day international.

  • Ishan Kishan became the 2nd Indian to make his one-day international debut for India on the same day as his birthday after Gursharan Singh - who played his maiden ODI against Australia back in 1990. Singh has represented India in only one Test and ODI.
  • Ishan Kishan became the sixteenth Indian player to score a half-century or more runs on debut One-day international match.
  • Ishan Kishan became the 1st Indian batsman to score half-century on debut in both ODI and T20I cricket and overall the 2nd player after Rassie van der Dussen.

  • 17 Innings : Shikhar Dhawan became the quickest player to completed 1000 ODI runs against Sri Lanka in terms of innings, beating Hashim Amla's record, He took 18 innings to complete this feat.
  • 140 Innings : Shikhar Dhawan became the 2nd quickest Indian player to completed 6000 ODI runs in terms of Innings after Virat Kohli's (136 innings).
  • India's 91 for 1 was their highest-score in powerplay in ODIs since 2013, previous best was 83 for 0 against West Indies in 2019.

Sri Lanka scored 262-9 in 50 overs with best scorer by Chamika Karunaratne hit a unbeaten 43 off 35-balls included two-fours and a six. Dasun Shanaka scored 39 off 50-balls included two-fours & a six, Charith Asalanka hit 38 off 65-balls included a boundary.

Avishka Fernando scored 32 off 35-balls included two-fours & a six, Minod Bhanuka scored 27 off 44-balls including three-fours and Debutant Bhanuka Rajapaksa - who hit 24 off 22-balls on his debut ODI match - with two-sixes and two-fours.

India Top bowler by Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal each strikes two-wickets, Krunal Pandya and Hardik Pandya both took one-wickets.

India chased 263-3 in 36.4 overs with best scorer by Shikhar Dhawan smashed a unbeaten 86 off 95-balls included six-fours and a six. Debutant Ishan Kishan - who blasted a 59 off 42-balls on his debut ODI match - including eight-fours & two-sixes with strike-rate of 140.47, Prithvi Shaw 43.

Debutant Suryakumar Yadav - who hammered a unbeaten 31 off 20-balls on his debut ODI match - included five-fours with strike-rate of 155 and Manish Pandey 26.

Sri Lanka Too bowler by Dhananjaya de Silva prized 2-wickets and one for Lakshan Sandakan.

Prithvi Shaw named Player of the match for his match-winning blazing 43 off 24-balls included nine-fours with strike rate of 179.16.
